Instead, it takes intention, strategic leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement. In this session, we'll explore the characteristics and dynamics that distinguish high-performing teams from average ones. We'll discuss how HR is a critical component in creating and supporting a culture that attracts, retains, and cultivates high-performance within an organization. The session will discuss the actions an organization can take to enhance team dynamics, support and drive performance, and foster psychological safety among the team. Additionally, what it takes to become the type of leader who can support and guide a culture of performance to drive results without driving your team away.

Speaker: Brittany Waiss, ACC, SHRM-SCP, PHR
Bio: Brittany Waiss, ACC, SHRM-SCP, PHR, is a certified Human Resources professional and an International Coaching Federation Associate Certified Coach (ACC) who has embraced being an HR and organizational development nerd. A graduate of the University of Montana College of Business, she has a depth of varied HR experience in healthcare, nonprofits, and for-profit businesses. In 2017, she joined KettleHouse Brewing Co. Doing so helped merge her passion for both beer and effective HR strategy, as well as follow in the footsteps of her grandfather and father in the beer industry as a third-generation “beerman.” At KettleHouse, Brittany has led the charge to develop and optimize HR strategy to help support the company as it continues to grow. She is also the owner of Expedition Coaching & Consulting LLC, where she focuses on making organizations more effective through better communication and people practices. In her experience, organizations that put intentional effort into improving their communication and building strong company cultures see improved retention, higher-quality candidates, increased job satisfaction, and better bottom-line results. She is passionate about elevating leaders by helping them strike a balance between organizational efficiency and cultures built around strong vision, good communication, and bold action.
Brittany is also committed to helping to elevate the HR profession and does so by staying involved at both the national and local levels. She has served in various roles on the Big Sky SHRM board, including President, and is the current Marketing Director for the Montana SHRM State Council. When not practicing HR or talking beer, you can usually find her playing in the mountains with her family.
